Dr. Daniel began his dream by planting 86 varieties of grapes, each one chosen for its potential to make great wine, on more than 10,000 vines. The grape varieties that Daniel cultivates include those that will survive the region's sometimes harsh winters.

			Daniel's varieties of white grapes include Cayuga, Vidal, Chardonel, Seyval, St. Pepin, Vignoles, Traminette, Bianca, Aurore and more. His red grapes include Norton, Baco Noir, St. Vincent, St. Croix, Marechal Foch, Leon Millot, Frontenac and Kozma.
